4 Common Audio Issues (And How to Fix Them)
Audio issues – the most common kinds. There’s nothing worse than trying to set up a presentation and having issues with your audio signal. Nevertheless, audio problems are one of the major issues that generally occur when it comes to the trade show and seminar technology.
1. Intermittent or Interrupted Sound
It seems obvious, but all cables should be tightened and checked before considering other audio problems. Many audio issues occur because the equipment is constantly moving around during the event itself. When possible, cable ties should be used to secure cables that are going to be in use.
2. Audio Issues With Garbled or Indistinct Sound
Damaged cables aren’t always obvious. When inspecting cables, most people look for visible marks, bends, and scratches. But many times the inner workings of the cord can become damaged without any visible issues to the exterior. Because of this, it’s always important to swap audio cables out when testing. Every cable is important so you need to swap them all out for a reliable test.
3. Sound That Is Too Soft or Too Loud
This is almost always an issue with sound control. Hardware devices, as well as software devices, have separate volume controls. If the sound is turned all the way down on a hardware device, the software volume will only be able to turn it up to a certain range. The opposite is also true. Check all system settings before you stick to the conclusion that there is something wrong in your system.
4. Echoing or Repeating
Echoing and repeating can be incredibly annoying. It usually happens when a microphone is picking up its own audio. In other words, the microphone is picking up the speaker, and then transmitting this sound over and over. If a microphone isn’t necessary, the fix is simple: just make sure that all the microphones are off. But if the microphone is a requirement, the individual using the microphone will need to stand further away from the speakers. If the sound still echoes, you should use a different type of microphone.
